The Avalon

Dec. 20 '08 -

We played at the Avalon. I love their stage and wish we could always play on a stage that size. They started us early and not everybody was even there yet so we tried to stall by playing an "acoustic" song I wrote and it didn't really go too well. When we did get started though I think it sounded really good. The sound was a lot better then The Outer Rim. We only got to really play for half an hour because of our stalling and didn't play three of our songs. "You're Still Here" sounded way better this time, except I kicked out the bass cord.

All the other bands that played with us were Death Metal, so I don't know how compatible our audiences were. But still there were a lot of people there just to see us, so that was cool. I'd like to play there again with some bands that are a little more like us. I love the set up there.

Outer Rim Show

Dec. 11 2008,

We played at The Outer Rim on Redwood. I like the set up inside, but some people don't like the shiftiness of the area. The lights were cool but to be honest the sound guys didn't do a very good job, the monitors weren't working and the bass was way too loud and muggy. Also for some weird reason I set up way off to the side, I still don't know why I did that.

Those things aside everybody really seemed to be digging it and we put on a good show. We had a dance competition between Dylan and Abby during "The End?" And Stephen Olsen said that was the best he had ever heard "Letter" played. Good times. We also played two songs for the first time, "You're Still Here" and "And Energy Transfer."

I messed up the order of the set list by missing some songs, which was really confusing to the other guys. Funny, I know. And I got a blood blister.

Our good buddy Ryan Meeks opened for us and aTiLast and Milque Bus played after us. aTiLast is awesome indy semi-acoustic goodness, way above the normal local level band. Check the out if you haven't heard them. Do it. I dare you.

All in all a good show, but, let's do better.

Complete Lyrics

Okay, I've been working hard at this lame looking new website to post all the Lyrics on. You can comment on them too! It may look cheap and free (like that's ever stopped you people) but at least all the links work! So, go there! Read them! Sing along at our shows!

P.s. check it often because we're working at making it less suckful. Thank you.

The SLCC Battle of the Bands
Category: Music

Well, it was the first time we've been on stage in years, and after watching old (crappy) performances by us, we were a little worried. Chase especially since he's never performed like that before. While we played my bass strap broke off, which was funny, and Chase's stool broke and he nearly fell off the stage, which was funnier.

Technical problems aside, it sounded pretty good. We've got a way to go, but a pretty big leap from high school days. Except our bassist. He sucks. That's why we're getting a girl bassist, because that's cool no matter what.

Oh, yeah and we tied for first with Double or Nothing. There were some pretty awesome bands there though, most notably a band called Atilast who we may be playing with soon.

Thanks to everyone who showed up.
